The weather was mixed over the weekend, wind rain and sun in various quantities. On Friday it pored down when the rain abated Peter Haigh walked from Grasmere back to the hut via Dunmail raise. LM and AM visited the osprey viewing point over Basenthwaite Lake. The Ospreys are back have laid their eggs ( same pair as last year) due to hatch about 19.05. They should fledge at the end of June. Saturday dawned very windy and cold. PB, AD,PW,HK, walked from Langthwaite up Whiteside to Hopegill Head over to Grasmoor and down via Whiteside Pike. PH walked near Hesket Newmarket but alas Doris wasn’t available. LM AM walked over Sale Fell and Ling Fell good all round views.
Sunday rained! PW cycled round the back of Blencathra and Skiddaw and PB walked over the Rigg for the first time to the pub in Keswick.
Monday PB and AD parked at High Row and walked up the miners path from Dockray up to the col between Sheffield Pike and Green Side, then down into the valley and up the track to Sticks Pass and along the Dodds and. Back down from Great Dodd via Wolf Crags and the Old Coach Road. PH walked over the Rigg. LM and AM parked at Stoneghwaite and walked up Greenup Gill and onto Eagle Crag and across to Sergeants Crag then back down Green up Gill. Sunny with a cool breeze.
